MEDITERANEAN SQUARES
THREE-DAY WORKSHOP
DESCRIPTION: MEDITERRANEAN SQUARES is a colorful collage of brickwork and tile patterns from the ancient cultures of the Mediterranean and Middle Eastern Empires. Over twenty-five threads of warm reds, blues, greens and golds, and in various textures and weights of silk, metallic and cotton, are used to create it. Learn to use color and thread texture to create depth and perspective. We will study several of the individual patterns, while stitching them, to learn the steps used to translate them to stitch. You will also learn how many of these patterns can be re-scaled and used again and again in future projects. The canvas comes to you with the design already outlined and the edges taped and ready for stitching.
