PEAR DUET

I have been working on the drawing for Pear Duet for awhile.  I did several sketches and tried out different combinations of water-soluble pencils to paint the design.  There are about 5 or 6 layers of water-soluble colored pencil used for each area, then just a little water is needed to dissolve the pigment.  I just finished the pears and copied the design to Transfer Artist Paper (by Leslie Riley) which I will then irone on to 18-count canvas in the same manner as Leaf Collage.

To create the background framework I will use a "string" pattern such as that used to a framework for a Zentangle (see my other blog:  http://terrystangles.blogspot.com.

Tomorrow and Monday I plan to pull a palette of threads to "audition" from my stash.  I will post again when I have most of the first pear stitched to show what I have in mind.

Hi Terry,

I am major excited to see the Pears in the works... remember how excited I got over the early sketches? Can't wait. And then to discover there are 2 more designs which are also beautiful - you continue to outdo yourself with new unique designs - and outdoing yourself is no easy task!

Thanks Barbara!

I am creating smaller designs this year also. I will do my best to post more often this year with updates. Glad you like these pears....actually began stitching this evening!

Love summer hse. When you are done i would love to do it. I have a new granddaughter too. Everything out there for her room is boring. I would love to design but this is 1st time on your site. Idea i had was for an alphabet wall hanging. Do you think it could be done with River Silk. We wouldn't have to use flowers or maybe just overdyed threads. What do you think? I keep stiitching but my thoughts always go back to the baby, she is my first born Sept. 13 name Caroline. Anybody any ideas? Contact me a szotti@verizon.net.
