More thread kits

We have been working hard here at the studio to complete oure inventory of complete kits whuch include a marked canvas, instruction book and all threads/ribbons and embellishments.  We now have complete kits available for 10 designs with Secret Garden following in about 10 days.

Color Kaleidoscope (above) is the latest kit to be added to the inventory.  It has over 40 threads and beads, with lots of partial skeins, so it is not one we put together on a regular basis. Click here for more information on Color Kaleidoscope.
THREAD KIT INVENTORY as of 6/20/15:
Color Kaleidoscope  6
Safari  1
Autumn Arrows  5
Images of India  1

Wild Roses Oval Box  1

Would it be helpful if we carried stretcher bars for each size canvas we use?  I would love to hear from you.

One framed and one pillow

Here is Color Kaleidoscope finished into a really cute pillow.  Marlene, of Marlene Custom Pillows, did a great job.  The fabric has an interesting weave to it and she custom dyed both the ball fringe and the corkscrew fringe to match. The overall dimensions of the pillow are 13" square.  It is a little hard to see all the beads, so look carefully.

And here is a picture of Leaf Collage now that it is framed.  The main outside mat is a medium gold and the inner mat is a dark red.  The two rows of darkest blue along the inside edge barely show.

Both of these will be offered at the ANG seminar next year in San Antonio.  Hope to see you there!

Now back to finishing up kits for this year's seminar in Columbus.  The end of the summer has arrived!  Where did my summer go? Only 5 more days into September 1st.....and to me.....the beginning of fall.

Happy stitching.....

California Poppy Transfer Design

It has been a busy, busy 6 weeks....but with good results.  Both of the pilot classes went well.  Of course there are still revisions to be made, but everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and the projects.

And during the time between the two pilots I received a call from the selection commitee accepting the two proposals I have previously shown here:  Leaf Collage (as a 3-day class) and Color Kaleidoscope (as a 2-day class).  I am very excited about both of them and will be completing the stitching on both upon my return from my next teaching trip....back home on April 21st.   Both of the pilots have already been scheduled and have been added to my teaching schedule.                                                                           But in the meantime I am finishing up the stitching on a small design I will be using for a new "guild" class.  Previously I have not had a good topic for short guild meetings so I'm very happy to now be able to share these techniques in this format.  This design (interesting border pattern, don't you think?) uses the same technique as I desribed in my blog entry of Sept. 13, 2009, and Leslie Riley's Transfer Artist Paper.  Also as part of the short class, the students will each transfer their own design and then we will review the sketch technique and the border designs.  Each student will have the choice of a leaf or this California Poppy design.

Happy Easter to everyone!
